Your thyroid produces hormones like T3, which is also called triiodothyronine and T4, known as thyroxine.
These two hormones control your metabolism and how your cells use energy.
When your thyroid produces too much of these hormones, it causes a thyroid disorder called hyperthyroidism.
Hyperthyroidism speeds up the metabolic functions of your body, which can cause many different uncomfortable symptoms.
How Do You Know If You Have Hyperthyroidism?
If you’re on the lookout for hyperthyroidism, there are some symptoms you might want to know about.

Tumors on your thyroid, ovaries, or testes could all cause this condition.
There are even some types of thyroid tumours that produce thyroid hormones by themselves.
